Webster, N.Y.- Students of all abilities have a new place to play at a school in Webster.
A new accessible playground was unveiled Thursday at Schlegel Road Elementary School.
Kindergarteners and first graders at the school were the first to try out the new equipment.
Principal Francine Leggett says parents, teachers and staffer helped design it.
“In the school we are able to have all kids included in anything and everything and on the playground we had some limitations,” said Leggett. “So now with this equipment kids can get on whether they have wheelchairs or walkers, even kids in crutches now they can get on the playground no matter what’s going on in their life.”
The project was paid for with a grant from the Alice and Edward Johnson Foundation.
