"Please take a moment this Christmas Eve to pray for the safety and well-being of the West Webster Fire Department, Webster Police Department, Monroe County Sheriff's Office and all other first responders - as well as the families and neighbors involved - in the events of today's fire and shooting on Lake Road in Webster.

Firefighters, police, EMTs and all other first responders risk their lives at a moment's notice, so we must remember to truly appreciate all that they do for our community.

Again, please take a moment and pray for the safety for the first reponders, families and neighbors affected by today's tragic events."

- Assemblyman Mark Johns

"Each year at the September 11th Ceremony in the Webster Village Park, we honor our emergency personnel from Webster - our brave firefighters and police officers, as the true heroes of our Nation. These courageous men and women risk their lives and well being every time they respond to a call for help.

Today, on this Christmas Eve, we’ve experienced an unspeakable tragedy. I join the entire Webster community in mourning the loss of our brave and dedicated first responders. Our thoughts and prayers are with their families and their loved ones."

- State Senator Mike Nozzolio

"Following this senseless tragedy, our thoughts and prayers are with the families of those who have lost their lives in the line of duty, heroically protecting the communities they serve. The contributions made by the fallen and injured officers in Webster will never be forgotten. As this investigation unfolds, we stand with our partners in law enforcement to ensure that lethal weapons are out of the hands of dangerous people, so that the brave New Yorkers who risk their lives every day to protect us are not exposed to additional danger."

- Attorney General Eric Schneiderman
