Webster, N.Y. - New York State Police have released the autopsy results following Monday's fire and deadly shooting in Webster.

The Monroe County Medical Examiner said Lt. Michael Chiapperini died from a single gunshot wound.

Firefighter Tomasz Kaczowka was hit by two bullets. He died at the scene.

Chiapperini and Kaczowka were rushing to put out a car and house fire on Lake Road Monday morning, when William Spengler opened fire.

The medical examiner is still trying to identify the remains found inside the gunman's home.

The gunman died after shooting himself in the head, according to the report.

ATF agents told 13WHAM News Wednesday that they believe they know where Spengler got the guns, but are not releasing the information because the investigation is ongoing.

Investigators are still working to trace how Spengler got the weapons used in the attack.

Spengler was a convicted felon, and, therefore, not legally allowed to own guns.
