Canandaigua, N.Y. - Wood Library on North Main Street in Canandaigua reopened Friday, four days after a burst pipe caused severe water damage.
Patrons can access the library’s ground and 2
nd floors, including the Bill Rayburn Children’s Library and the artwork currently on display in the Ewing Family Community Room.
The library’s main floor remains closed to the public.
This means there is no accessibility to fiction, non-fiction, reference, local history, large print, young adult, mystery, western, inspirational, newspapers and magazines.
Patrons are not able to use the library’s public computers, the copier machine, the public printer or the fax machine.
75-percent of the adult fiction books were damaged; those books were immediately sent to
Document Reprocessors in Rushville to be freeze dried.
Library officials hope to fully reopen Monday.
Crews will continue to work on the main floor over the weekend.
