Brighton, N.Y. - State Police charged a driver involved in a wrong-way crash on I-590 last month that seriously injured another driver.
Mario Carlenius, 38, is charged with Aggravated Vehicular Assault, Second-Degree Assault, Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, Reckless Driving, and Driving on Wrong Side of Divided and Controlled-access Highway.
Emergency crews responded to a report of a wrong-way driver traveling south in the northbound lanes on I-590 near the Empire Blvd. exit around 1:45 a.m. on November 30.

Police say Carlenius hit a vehicle traveling on I-390 southbound towards the I-590 northbound interchange.
The driver of the second vehicle, Stanislov Dutchak, age 20, from Hilton, was heading to work when he was hit.
Dutchak remains in guarded condition at Strong Hospital.
Police say Carlenius was charged with Aggravated DWI due to a B.A.C. of .19%.
He was arraigned at Strong Memorial Hospital by Supreme Court Justice Francis Affronti and remanded to the custody of the Monroe County Sheriffs Office.
