WATERTOWN, N.Y. (AP) — Authorities say a person is dead after a fire in his northern New York apartment.
Fire officials in Watertown are not yet identifying the victim but neighbors told authorities that it was a male tenant.
Firefighters responded to the blaze shortly before 8:30 p.m. Wednesday and kept the fire contained mostly to the back porch of the building.
The building houses six apartments, but fire officials say they are not sure how many tenants lived there. No other injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
