(WHAM-TV) Albany, N.Y. - A pit bull puppy has a new chance at life thanks to a prosthetic leg.

Doctors fitted "Hudson" with the leg for the first time Monday.

Hudson's rear left paw had to be amputated after he, his sister, Pearl, and another puppy were found on September 8 abused, malnourished and left to die near railroad tracks north of a housing development.

Hudson's new leg may not be bulletproof, but the 3-month-old pup is comfortable in his new prosthesis.

Hudson whined a bit as the leg was strapped on for the first time Monday afternoon, but seconds later the brown-and-white puppy was strutting around his pen with his sister, playing tug of war and sitting for a treat.
