Greece, N.Y. – The Federal Bureau of Investigations is looking into possible wrongdoings with the local government in the Town of Greece.

The news came to light during a recent zoning board meeting in which businessman and Monroe County legislator Rick Antelli said he was a federal witness in an FBI investigation into the town.

“A lot of that information should stay right within this board because there is an FBI investigation going on,” Antelli said during an interchange with one board member.

A source within town government confirmed Antelli’s remarks adding some documents have been subpoenaed.

The FBI is not commenting on the case.

Local attorney John Parrinello said he too had been contacted by the FBI months ago and questioned about a meeting between himself, Greece Supervisor John Auberger and Gary Pignato, who was applying for a job within the police department at the time.

Pignato is now in jail.

The government source told 13WHAM the FBI could possibly be looking into an alleged car crash in 2003 that involved the son of a Greece politician.
