Niagara Falls, N.Y. (AP) - Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand will be in Western New York to join a discussion on improving cross-border traffic.

The New York Democrat is scheduled to meet Tuesday morning in Niagara Falls with Mayor Paul Dyster, Congressman Brian Higgins and Congresswoman Kathy Hochul to talk about regional efforts to increase business, tourism and trade across the Canadian border along the Buffalo-Niagara region.

Niagara Falls has struggled economically for decades, but Dyster said that there has been recent investment in his city from Canadian hotel developers because of the strong Canadian dollar and favorable real estate market.

Gillibrand also has events planned Tuesday afternoon in Batavia and Ithaca.
