Rochester, N.Y. - Kerry Pierson of Fairport was riding a jet ski with her son Samuel near Thorndale Beach when it hit a cement breakwall on Wednesday, August 8.
Witnesses said the mother was thrown onto the shore and the boy went into the lake.
Both were taken by Mercy Flight to Strong Hospital where Kerry was in guarded condition for days. Her son died hours after the crash.
Pierson has been discharged from Strong Hospital.
Police say this appears to have been an accident, but it is still under investigation.
