Albany, N.Y. (AP) - Law enforcement agencies across New York state are participating in National Child Passenger Safety Week.
New York State Police, local police agencies and highway safety professionals are taking part in the weeklong enforcement effort that began Sunday and runs through Saturday, September 22.
Police officials say Safety Week is aimed at drawing attention to the threats faced by child passengers in motor vehicle crashes. Police will be checking vehicles carrying children to make sure they are properly secured in vehicles.
