Bath, N.Y.- A New York State Police Trooper was hurt Friday morning after crash-landing a helicopter in the Southern Tier.
Police say the pilot was returning from a search for a missing person in an Aviation Bell 430 helicopter when he experienced a mechanical emergency.
The Trooper made a controlled, but powerless descent, which resulted in a hard landing.
We’re told he suffered none-life threatening injuries and was taken to Strong Hospital.
The cause of the incident is still being investigated.
