(13WHAM-TV) - New Yorkers spend more money on lottery tickets than people in any other state.

New finance reports from the United States Census shows New Yorkers spend $7 billion a year on lottery tickets.

That's more than $2 billion more than any other state.

The figures also show New York awards the most in lottery prizes--$4 billion a year.
