ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman says more than 2,100 more accounts of registered sex offenders have been purged from online gaming platforms as part of an initiative to keep them from contacting children.

In April, the Attorney General's office said several big gaming companies agreed to eliminate the accounts of convicted sex offenders registered in New York, resulting since in 3,500 cancellations.

Under New York law, New York's more than 34,000 sex offenders are required to register all of their e-mail addresses, screen names, and other Internet identifiers with the state.
