Rochester, N.Y.- Parents and the community got their first chance Monday night to weigh in on a plan to close five Rochester City School District schools.
The first of 15 public hearings on a plan from Superintendent Bolgen Vargas was held Monday night on Adams Street.
Vargas wants to close five schools and consolidate programs at other schools to modernize facilities and to deal with a drop in enrollment.
About two dozen people came to speak at Monday's meeting.
