The Music City Bowl and the Atlantic Coast Conference have announced an extension for the league to send one of its teams to the annual game through the 2013 season.

"We are pleased to secure another four years with the ACC," said Scott Ramsey, president and CEO of the Music City Bowl. "Nashville is a great destination for the ACC teams and fans as evidenced by the thousands of fans who have traveled to Music City in the past few years."

The ACC has played in the Music City Bowl since 2006. It also features a team from the Southeastern Conference.

"The Gaylord Hotels Music City Bowl has been an excellent partner and we look forward to continuing our relationship," said ACC Commissioner John Swofford. "Nashville is a terrific destination for our teams and fans, and it's a great opportunity for the ACC."

This year's Music City Bowl is scheduled for December 27.
