In a letter to members, Oak Hill Country Club head professional Craig Harmon announced he will retire at the end of 2013.
Harmon has helped oversee numerous big events at Oak Hill, and is a big reason the club and course is now known as one of the premier golf destinations in the United States.
Harmon wrote a letter to Oak Hill members informing them of his decision.
"Recently I announced to Ron Pluta, Club President, that I was retiring as your Head Golf Professional effective December 31st of this year. I want you all to know that it has been a distinct honor to hold this position for 42 years. Any and everything good that has happened in my life did so as a result of my relationship with Oak Hill CC. I am so very grateful to the membership for caring about me and allowing me to do my craft to the best of my abilities. I have truly enjoyed being around the men, women and children of Oak Hill. For most of you I was the only professional you knew. You now have the opportunity to welcome another Head Professional into your arms. That person will have the opportunity to enjoy you all as much as I have."
"Thank you all so much for all you have done for me and my family. I will never forget my wonderful experiences with all of you at this fantastic club."
