Atlanta, GA (Sports Network) - The Atlanta Braves picked up their one-year, $12 million contract option on All-Star catcher Brian McCann on Tuesday, while also exercising their 2013 options on pitchers Tim Hudson and Paul Maholm.

McCann hit 20 homers and drove in 67 runs over 121 games this past year, but batted a career-low .230 while dealing with a troublesome shoulder. He had surgery to repair the shoulder two weeks ago and could miss the start of next season.

Hudson, 37, led the Braves with 16 wins last season -- his eighth with the club. He is three wins shy of 200 for his career and owns a 3.42 lifetime ERA.

Maholm, acquired in a mid-season trade with the Cubs, went a combined 13-11 with a 3.67 ERA. The 30-year-old had spent the first seven years of his career with the Pirates.
