New York, NY (Sports Network) - San Francisco Giants catcher Buster Posey and Detroit Tigers first baseman Miguel Cabrera were named the Most Valuable Players for the National League and American League on Thursday.

Last season, Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Ryan Braun took home NL honors, while Detroit Tigers pitcher Justin Verlander was named top player in the AL.
