Red Wings put Franzen on IR

Detroit, MI (Sports Network) - The Detroit Red Wings have placed forward Johan Franzen on injured reserve.

Franzen has missed the last two games with a hip injury. He has three goals and six assists in 12 games this season.

Also on Saturday, the Red Wings activated goaltender Jonas Gustavsson from injured reserve and assigned him to Grand Rapids of the American Hockey League.
