The San Jose Sharks placed defenseman Rob Blake on injured reserve Thursday with an upper-body injury.

The 39-year-old veteran had one goal and five assists in 16 games this season.

To fill the roster spot, the Sharks recalled defenseman Derek Joslin from Worcester of the AHL. Joslin had no points in two games this year in his first call-up.
