Off-duty police officer rescues kids from car fire

Henrietta, N.Y. - Several children survived a car fire, thanks to an off-duty Rochester police officer and her mother Saturday.

A car crash lead to the fire around 6:30 pm Saturday at the corner of West Henrietta Road and Thruway Park Drive.

Police said a driver ran a red light and hit another vehicle, which had four children inside.

An off-duty officer, and her mother, were the first to arrive at the scene of the accident and helped pull the kids out of the car before the car caught fire.

The driver of the car that ran the red light, Sean Cuer, 20, has been ticketed for running the light and for speeding.

No one was injured in the crash.
