Fiancee of drunk driving victim speaks

Fiancee tells court her life is ruined

Rochester, N.Y. Amber Reeves says she doesnt care what happens to Robert Mastowski. Shes too busy.

Too busy raising 2 young girls and holding down 2 jobs to give much thought to the man who killed her fianc, Luis Alayon, last year.

Mastowski, 52, of Hilton, got drunk then drove his truck into another car.

Alayon, 25, was killed and Reeves, who was pregnant at the time, was hurt.

I was forced to tell my 4-year-old girl that she wont see her daddy anymore, Reeves said.

Reeves spoke Monday at Mastowskis sentencing. He was sent to prison for 3 to 9 years for vehicular manslaughter and DWI. He had 3 prior DWI convictions.

She said no matter what happens, her life will never be the same.

I will never fit in anywhere, she said. I see my girls for 2 hours a night.

Mastowski also addressed the court saying, I fully apologize. It was my actions that caused the death of Luis Alayon. I am at fault and no one else.

Prosecutor Ray Benitez says Mastowski is dying of cancer and is an alcoholic adding he thinks he should spend more time in prison.

This is the fourth DWI conviction and he took someones life and if anyone deserves the maximum period of incarceration it is Robert Mastowski so Im not pleased with the sentence, Benitez said.

Reeves said society and his family failed Mastowski by letting him continue to drive drunk.
