Super Bowl performances

Bruno Mars fans know him for two main things, his talent and his hair. Mars was asked how it would hold up in the cold and wind of New Jersey.

I got three gallons of hair spray in this thing so I think Im good, said singer Bruno Mars.

Mars will share the stage with the Red Hot Chili Peppers but he comes into this event as one of the top performers in the world. He was named Billboards 2013 Artist of the Year and he has 18 Grammy nominations.

Thats a lot for a young performer, one of the youngest to ever handle Super Bowl halftime. So, is he nervous?

No matter where I perform I just want people to have fun. Whether its at a wedding or a bar mitzvah or the Grammys or the Super Bowl but I aint nervous, says Mars.

The difference from the halftime performer to the national anthem singer could not be more dramatic. Soprano Renee Fleming, known as the peoples diva will be the first opera singer to ever sing at the Super Bowl.

Shes performed at major events like the inauguration of President Obama and the Novel Peace Prize ceremony but she says this is number one.

The television audience alone, there is nothing else like it, says Fleming. Pavarotti sang at the World Cup and it changed his life, changed his career entirely. The national anthem is something everyone knows and feels so strongly about. Above all I feel a tremendous amount of responsibility, the 200th anniversary of the national anthem, thats a great honor.
