Police confirm buried body on Rowley Street

UPDATE 10:57A.M.: Rochester Police have confirmed that a human body was found on the grounds of a Rowley Street property that has been surrounded by police since Wednesday night.

In a 10:45 A.M. news conference, a police spokesperson said the death is now under investigation and that the medical examiner's office would be recovering the body.

That spokesperson went on to say that there is no immediate cause for concern for neighbors around that home.

What prompted police to initiate an investigation that focused on this property is unknown at this time.

Rochester, N.Y. -- Police continue to investigate what theyre calling a suspicious condition at a home on the citys east side.

The police acivity began around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday at 27 Rowley St., near Brighton Street.

Police said there is no threat to public safety. 

13WHAM News has learned the name of the homes owner, but police have not yet confirmed that persons involvement.

Neighbors said its a safe neighborhood, as they rarely experience any issues.
