Greece students get iPad Labs

Greece, N.Y.- 7-year-old Tyler Weber said iPads are so much fun everyone should have one.

Now the eight hundred plus students in grades K-5 in the Greece School District have access to iPads in the school library.

Senator Joe Robach worked with the district to secure $200,000 in education funding.

That money was used to buy 30 iPads for every elementary school in Greece.

Tyler and his second grade classmates at the Autumn Lane School tried out the new technology on Monday.

They read a story called: If I were the President.  Librarian Katie Boggs said kids associate technology like this with fun and that makes learning more fun for them. She said some of the students dont have access to this at home, so this gives them a chance to catch up to their classmates and even the playing field.

Students can use the iPads for lessons, games or to read books when they are in the library. The only thing they cannot do is take them home.
