Sharing a birthday with royalty

Rochester, N.Y. The excitement for the birth of the royal baby hit social media as soon as news that the Duchess of Cambridge was in labor.

Its happy, its a little baby, said Jules Suplicki, a native of England and manager of The Old Toad restaurant in Rochester. Whats not to be happy about that? Fresh blood in the royals I mean its been so stuffy for so long and these guys and young, theyre vibrant; theyre trying to bring a breath of fresh air to the royalty so I think its great.

Not every Brit we met was as excited about the birth, but Suplicki said in general Brits are proud of their country.

Deep down in every Brit there's the patriotic nature, said Suplicki, the youngsters joke we don't care, we don't care but I think they do it's a good thing.

But the royals weren't the only ones celebrating a birth on Monday.

We're glad to have her here, and we beat Kate, said Jason Whitbeck, whose wife Amanda just had a baby girl, Eleanora Jane.

The national media wasn't waiting outside Highland Hospital for Eleanoras birth but to the Whitbecks she is a princess.

Awesome really just filled with joy and I can't stop looking at her, said Jason Whitbeck. [I] loved her as soon as I saw her.

Eleanora was born at 7:14 Monday morning and weighed 8 pounds 3 ounces.

Her parents say they're excited she shares her birthday with royalty.

I think that would be pretty cool, said Amanda Whitbeck.

Whitbeck was really hoping for the July 22nd birthdate because its also her sisters birthday.
