Small plane crashes into house in Indiana
Columbus, Ind. (AP) - A small plane has crashed into a house in a central Indiana, injuring two people who were on the plane.
Indiana State Police Sgt. Noel Houze says the crash happened Thursday morning in a neighborhood in Columbus, about 40 miles south of Indianapolis. The crash ignited a fire at the home.
The crash happened about a mile from the city's airport, and the fire sent a plume of smoke over the city. Video from television helicopter crews show much of the one-story house was destroyed, but no other houses appeared to be damaged.
Bartholomew County 911 director Ed Reuter says one of the injured people was being transferred to an Indianapolis hospital, but he didn't know details of injuries. He didn't know if anyone inside the house was hurt.
