Deadly crash kills child, Day 2 of trial
Rochester, N.Y. -- Tuesday is the second day of the trial for the Rochester man who killed a child after driving onto a playground.
James Bradley is accused of being high on marijuana at the time of
the May 9, 2011 crash.
Sahmir Williams, 7, died from his injuries.
Layla Frasier, Williams mother, talked about what its like to see Bradley in court.
about time, Frasier said. Its been 27 months, and Im just happy at least
something is being done. Theres a lot of homicides unsolved here in Rochester,
hit-and-runs here in Rochester where no one was held accountable, parents dont
know. At least Im fortunate enough and blessed enough to know whats going on,
what happened, whos responsible. Im fortunate enough for that much.
In opening statements Monday, defense attorneys called it a tragic accident.
Bradley suffers from seizures and had two of them the week before the crash.
Prosecutors said instead of contacting his doctor , Bradley chose to continue to keep driving.
