San Francisco - New federal rules are now in effect at the airport where three people died following a crash landing.

Foreign airlines can no longer land alongside another plane when touching down at San Francisco International Airport.

The goal IS to minimize distractions during a critical phase of the flight.

The FAA cited several recent instances of landing problems with foreign planes -- most notably that July 6th crash landing.
