New designs for Inner Loop made public

Rochester, N.Y. - Residents can be heard on a proposal to change part of Rochesters Inner Loop at a meeting Wednesday night.

The proposed project would eliminate the stretch of the expressway between Monroe Avenue and Charlotte Street and replace it with a complete street designed to accommodate pedestrians and bicyclists in addition to drivers.

Construction could start as early as next fall.

The City will present preliminary design plans and then open the meeting for public comment.

The meeting starts at 6 p.m. August 28 at City Hall.
