Police: One man behind seven robberies

Rochester, N.Y. - Rochester Police think the same man committed seven recent armed robberies on the city's northeast side.

The man police are looking for is tall and thin, stands between 5'6" and 5'11" and appears to be in his 20s to early 30s.

He's been toting a black semiautomatic handgun and, according to victims, speaks either Spanish or English with a Spanish accent.

The seven robberies have taken place between Joseph Avenue and Portland Avenue since July 13. Three of the robberies were businesses, two of them were street stick-ups, one was a taxi-cab robbery, and the seventh was an attempted commercial robbery.

In two of the robberies, the suspect was riding a black BMX bike.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crimestoppers at (585) 423-9300.
