Local colleges team up for deaf students

Rochester, N.Y. The University of Rochester and RIT are teaming up for a new program to help students that are deaf and hard-of-hearing to earn college degrees.

A $2.1 million federal grant will help create a program to improve the experience for students seeking advanced degrees.

Its the hope that the program, called Rochester Bridges to the Doctorate, could be a model for other colleges across the country.
