Marines good deed goes viral

Charlevoix, Mich. - But Lance Corporal Myles Kerr says he's not a hero when he ran alongside a youngster in northern Michigan.

He said he was just "doing the right thing."

He was running in a 5K in the lakeside town of Charlevoix over the weekend when he noticed a young boy who had fallen behind the group early on in the race.

He dropped back and ran the rest of race alongside 9-year-old Boden Fuchs.

The two crossed the finish line together, just shy of the 35-minute mark.

He didn't know someone had snapped a photo until his recruiter posted it on Facebook.

Kerr is near the end of a one-week leave from Camp Pendleton in California.
