Daughter of Rochester man's remains found, Family preps for funeral
Rochester, N.Y.A Rochester father, whose daughter went missing nearly two years ago in Panama learned this week that recently discovered remains are those of his daughter, Yvonne Baldelli.
The California native was last seen in Panama in November 2011, with her boyfriend, Brian Brimager, an ex-Marine.
Human remains were found in a military style bag just over a week ago. Tuesday, her family was told by authorities that DNA testing confirmed a match.
In one way it was sad that her remains have to be found that way, said Faust. In the other way, it was a relief, at least now we can get the remains back and give her a dignified burial.
Brimager is accused of killing Baldelli on a Panamanian island and staging a cover-up in an attempt to trick her loved ones, according to the San Diego Tribune.
U.S. authorities and Faust suspects that Brimager sent emails to his family from Baldellis computer in order to make them believe she was still alive.
The most trying part was when my wife and I had to go back to Panama and file a missing persons report and then we had to listen to the neighbors say how she had been showing up with bruises and they had heard fights and screams coming from their apartment, explained Faust.
Brimager has not been charged in Baldellis death by authorities in Panama.
We want to get the remains back and give her a very dignified internment, said Faust. After that, hopefully, hell be extradited to Panama and he will be tried for murder down there.
