Blossom South granted injunction

Rochester, N.Y. United States District Court Judge David Larimer granted a preliminary injunction to Blossom South Thursday afternoon.

Blossom South Nursing and Rehabilitation Center filed for the injunction on August 26 after a series of events that led the federal government to ask the facility for a closure plan.

Judge Larimers decision ensures that Blossom South does not close and states that the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Service cannot cease any aid they provide.

A hearing has been scheduled for October 8.

Since March of 2011, Blossom South Nursing and Rehabilitation Center has been a Special Focus Facility for Medicare and Medicaid services.
