Updated: Mayor's office: $275,000 grant to 'improve' High Falls
High Fall, N.Y. The mayors office announced Thursday that roughly $250,000 in state funding has been secured to begin construction on High Falls.
In a press release Thursday, Mayor Thomas Richards and Senators Joseph Robach and George Moses, announced a $250,000 grant to transform High Falls.
According to the press release, $200,000 will be used to upgrade the Genesee Riverway Trail. The construction will allegedly complete a portion of the trail on the east side of the Genesee River from the Genesee Brew House Visitors Center to the rim of the High Falls.
"By securing these state resources, said Senator Robach, We can attract more people and bring more jobs to the High Falls and Downtown Rochester.
The additional $50,000 will be used to light the falls.
