Back to school in Greece

Greece, N.Y. - Students in the biggest suburban school district in the Rochester area head back to class this morning.

In addition to the familiar faces of teachers and classmates,  students will find a new face - a school resource officer who will split time between Greece's four high schools.

Officer Marybeth Kowalski is a veteran of the Greece Police Department with over ten years of experience working with young people in the district's schools.

We're here to help them with their problems and to get in front of problems, Kowalski said. Whether it be fights, bullying going on, groups fighting with other groups, whatever those problems are."

Her job will take her inside the schools to work with young people who may need someone to talk to about their problems. But she doesnt just counsel-- she's also present to be an enforcer if need be.
