Two injured in fiery Clarendon crash

Clarendon, N.Y. - Two women were hospitalized Wednesday morning after their cars crashed head on in the town of Clarendon.

Orleans County Sheriff's deputies said shortly before 8:00 a.m., Randi Lee Johnson, 28, of Albion, was driving on Route 31A and crossed over the center line near the intersection of South Manning Rd.

Her Jeep crashed head on with a Ford Taurus driven by Sherell Lindsey, 29, of Medina.

Johnson was able to escape her Jeep before it burst into flames and was totally consumed by fire. She was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.

Lindsey was trapped in her vehicle for 45 minutes before being extricated by firefighters. She was flown to Strong by a Mercy Flight helicopter.

The Orleans County Sheriffs Office said the incident remains under investigation.
