Police looking for driver in hit and run
Livonia, N.Y.- Livingston County Sheriffs deputies are investigating a hit and run crash that injured a bicyclist in Livonia Wednesday.
Police said around 7 a.m., Richard Russer, 71, was riding his bicycle in a northerly direction on West Lake Road when he was struck from behind, as he was being passed by a northbound vehicle. The victim saw that the vehicle that hit him was a large, white vehicle.
The driver did not stop.
Russer was transported to Strong Hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening.
Sheriffs deputies recovered a passenger side mirror of the vehicle involved. It is believed that the mirror belongs to a white Ford Econoline type of van.
Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash or saw a vehicle matching the description that is missing its passenger side mirror to call them. The number is (585) 243-7100.
