Deputies: Fatal car accident in Manchester

Manchester, N.Y. - A Macedon teen is dead following a car accident in Ontario County.

Ontario County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a car crash around 10:30 p.m. in the town of Manchester.

Justin Rifenberg, 17, failed to stop at a stop sign on Johnson Road at Route 21, causing a three car crash that took his life.

John Javorowsky, 19, was traveling south on Route 21 and hit Rifenberg's vehicle, causing it to spin into the other lane.

Deputies said a third driver, Jeffrey Myers, 61, struck Rifenberg's vehicle again.

The teenager was trapped inside the vehicle for a short period of time before being extricated and taken to Strong Memorial Hospital by Mercy Flight. Rifenberg died from his injuries at the hospital.
