Police: Sodus Point firemen run amok at Water Safari
Old Forge, N.Y. - Several firemen from Sodus Point were arrested after breaking into Enchanted Forest Water Safari in the Adirondacks and damaging the theme park's property.
According to the Times of Wayne County, Eric Frisbie and Jacob Williams were charged with burglary, criminal mischief and petit larceny. Frisbie was additionally charged with false impersonation.
The two are accused of breaking into the theme park, stealing food and prize items, turning over machines, smashing an arcade game, even defecating on one of the building's floors.
Town of Webb police officers found several of the stolen items at nearby Old Forge Campgrounds, where the firemen were staying for an annual drill school hosted by the local fire department.
After talking to officers via cell phone and refusing to turn themselves in, the suspects were eventually found at an area hotel. John Frisbie, brother of Eric, was at the hotel and is accused of interfering during the police investigation - and was eventually pepper-sprayed.
Webb's chief of police said he was impressed with his officers, who worked an 18-hour day on this investigation.
An official at the theme park said there was $4,800 worth of property damage.
