Shots fired near Rochester school

Rochester, N.Y.- The lockout is over at Wilson Commencement Academy and Wilson Foundation Academy on Genesee Street after a nearby shooting.

Just before 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, Rochester Police were called to the area of Genesee Street and Flint Street for shots fired.

Police said two men were shooting at each other and two parked cars were hit. No one was inside.

When officers arrived, the suspects had already fled.

The school resource officer at Wilson Commencement Academy heard the gunfire and notified school officials. The school was put on lockout for a short time. A lockout means classes continue but no one is allowed to enter the building without being escorted.

Rochester Police are still looking for the suspects.
