Rose Chase Trial: Day 2

Canandaigua, N.Y. -- Several witnesses took the stand Wednesday in the trial of Rose Chase, the woman accused of murdering her husband, Adam, and cremating his remains.
Jurors heard from a friend of Adams family who is a private investigator. Rodney Miller said Rose gave him permission to tour the home after Adam's disappearance. He testified that he could "smell death" in the home.
Miller decided he needed to take action, so he worked with the Chase's babysitter to play a trick on Rose. The babysitter told Rose that there was a break in the case, and someone would be charged with murder. According to Miller, Rose later admitted that she burned her husband's remains.
Tuesday, prosecutors made the case that Rose planned to kill Adam after a friend took a picture of her in a park with another man.
Prosecutors say Rose pushed her husband down the stairs, hid his body in the basement, then cremated the remains at her mothers house in Yates County.
She maintains the death was an accident.
