Avoca student charged for having drugs, gun at school
Steuben County, N.Y. Steuben County Sheriffs deputies said a student at Avoca Central School was arrested Tuesday and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and a weapon.
The school resource officer looked into an incident regarding students smoking on the school grounds.
The officer found Alec Bowen, 18, was in possession of a controlled substance, and had a firearm in the cab of a pickup truck in the parking lot.
Bowen was charged and remanded to Steuben County Jail on $10,000 bail.
He is expected to reappear in court on November 13.
