Pedestrian struck in Geneva
Geneva, N.Y. -- Ontario County Sheriffs responded to a motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian at about 1 a.m. Friday morning.
Joann Mattice, 77, was struck by a car on Route 14 in front of her home in Geneva after crossing the street to get her mail.
According to investigators, Bradley Bourne, 29, of Waterloo, did not see Mattice crossing the road.
Mattice was transported to Geneva General Hospital, and then to Strong Memorial Hospital for a head injury and fractured leg.
Investigators shut down Route 14 in order to reconstruct the accident.
According to police, the incident is listed as a pedestrian error, and no tickets have been issued.
