Police: There are more victims
Batavia, N.Y. -- Police believe Sean Michael Vickers has molested numerous children.
Ive never worked a case with so many victims over such a span of time, said Detective Kevin Czora of the Batavia Police Department.
Already jailed for allegedly sexually abusing children in Batavia, and charged with similar crimes in Niagara County, a new 11-count indictment was handed down from a Genesee County Grand Jury last week.
In general, the age ranges were 8 to 17, said Czora.
The new charges, ten of which are felonies, stem from an ongoing investigation into the alleged abuse of four children, by Vickers over a 12-year period, according to Batavia Police.
Vickers was convicted of a misdemeanor in Monroe County in 1990 and a felony in New Hampshire in 2009, both involving boys, according to a report by The Buffalo News.
Vickers brother, David, is the subject of a federal investigation and he has been charged with transportation of a minor with intent to engage in sexual activity, according to U.S. Attorney William J. Hochul, Jr. Earlier this year, Vickers pleaded not guilty to the charge, according to a news by the U.S. Attorney.
Police suspect there are other victims and request that anyone with information contact their local police department.
