Study: pot smokers perform worse on memory tests

Chicago -- New research suggests smoking marijuana damages parts of the brain critical to memory development and reasoning.

Researchers in Chicago found that even moderate pot use damaged the sub-cortical part of the brain over a two-year period.

They also found that those who had smoked marijuana in the last two years performed significantly worse on memory tests than those who hadn't.
