Vote is in for TIME Person of the Year
An Egyptian general beat out the prime minister of Turkey and Miley Cyrus to win the Reader Poll for TIME Person of the Year.
General Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, who toppled the first democratically-elected government in Egypt, received 26.2% of the vote.
Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan received 20.8%, and Miley Cyrus clocked in with 16.3%.
Egypt's passionate and populous citizenry drove General el-Sisi to the top slot, accounting for the largest number of votes in the poll. India and the U.S. Had the second and third highest.
TIME magazine's editors will choose the Person of the Year on Wednesday, Dec. 11.
