Warren says she is done talking about security team

Patrice Walsh

Mayor Lovely Warren was a guest on the Wease Morning Radio show and was hoping to talk about the good thing she wants to do for our city. But she was again asked questions about the controversial issues that have consumed her first two weeks in office.

Warren defended the hiring of her uncle, Reggie Hill, a retired state police investigator and said it was cheaper than having Rochester Police do the security detail.

In an interview with 13 WHAM after the radio appearance, Warren was asked to respond to media reports that there was a second traffic stop on the Thruway last week. The media reports allege that Hill was pulled over on the way to Albany for driving 92 miles an hour and again on the way home for going 97 miles an hour. Warren has also confirmed the stop on the way home but denied Hill was going that fast.
She also said he did not activate emergency lights as some reports had alleged.

Both times, he was allegedly let go without a ticket, according to media reports.

Warren told us; Im done talking about the Thruway and Im done talking about the security detail. All the information has been turned over to City Council President for review.
